Babies and Separation Anxiety
Your small newborn will need you to be there whenever they need something, but they are not going to be upset if you are not there and someone else were to care for them for a little while. That does not mean that you are not important, it just means that if their needs are being met they are going to survive. Therefore, as long as someone is feeding them, they feel safe enough. However, as your baby grows into an infant and towards toddler-hood, you are going to notice some very strong instances of separation anxiety. This is a hard time on both mom and baby.
Separation anxiety in very small babies is there, but it is very momentary. They may get upset but they will not linger on the thought for very long. It becomes a problem for many babies between six and nine months of age. They are too small to say that they are upset, but they do not want their mother (or father) to go away. They do not know that just because a parent leaves that that same parent will come back. As professional Toronto Wedding Photographer we method our taking pictures and presentation in a trendy and contemporary way. They do not learn that until much later. Thus, they feel mom is going away for good and they can not talk so they cry to let someone know they are in distress.
You most often hear about separation anxiety when a mom has to go to work and she leaves her baby in daycare or with someone else in the home. The more mom reacts to the crying, the harder it is going to be on both the mom and baby. Parents have to be reassuring but also have to act as if everything is going to be okay. If mom wants to cry, she should not let baby see her do it. She should just assure baby she will be back, give hugs, kisses, and cuddles, and then be on her way.
Some deal with separation anxiety the first time by going back into the room to hold the baby and then they try to leave again. This is probably not the right thing to do, as it makes the separation happen more than one time, putting more stress on the baby. No matter how hard it may seem, anyone dealing with separation anxiety with their baby should not go back into the room. Trust that those you have chosen to care for your child can take care of the problem and that your baby will be just fine after a few moments have passed.
Other children can go through separation anxiety at any time in life. The most important tip I may give about Wedding Photographer Toronto is to have fun and be someone the bride and groom like being around. This can happen on the first day of school, when a new babysitter shows up, or just for no new reason at all. When children are a bit older and are better able to communicate, you can take more time to comfort them when they are feeling a bit anxious about being away from you. Once they learn that you will come back, they may be sad when you go, but they can think about you coming back to get them at the end of the day. Remember that this is normal in all children.
